Two joint papers have been accepted for presentation at the 38th ACM SIGSIM International Conference on Principles of Advanced Discrete Simulation (SIGSIM-PADS 2024).
The papers are:
-
In the paper Adaptive Synchronization and Pacing Control for Visual Interactive Simulation we tackle a key problem in visual interactive simulations: balancing, at runtime, the delay of visualizing the simulation state with the delay of user interaction. We propose to exploit predictability in workloads to adjust the size of a newly-introduced buffer between both components.
-
In the paper Simulating Data Flows of Very Large Scale Intelligent Transportation Systems, we present our concept for massive-scale data flow simulation for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) based on link precomputation and weak ordering of events. A companion paper will be presented at IEEE VNC 2024; it details the open source implementation of the simulator which is written in Rust.
Authors' versions of the papers will be made available at the links above.
