Planning
If you plan to take an exam for a course, please ask for an appointment well in advance. Due to the inherent complexity of finding time slots that multiple students, multiple examiners, and at least one note taker – all familiar with the course material – can clear on their calendars, we can offer only little flexibility in scheduling.
Canceling
If you are unable to make your appointment, please let us know (in addition to notifying the Examination Office).
Examination modes
Exams in slots listed above that are annotated with “(BBB)” will be conducted by videoconference; all others will be conducted in presence.
For exams by videoconference, please let us know if you would like to use an on-campus computer for the exam or if you would like to take the exam from home. Exams by videoconference are currently scheduled to take place in:
https://bbb.tu-dresden.de/b/anj-vkx-rkw-qdw
Please note that the above link to the meeting may change without notice. Verify that you are using the correct link immediately before entering. If you experience any trouble joining the conference, please immediately get in touch with your examiners, e.g., Christoph Sommer by e-mail.
Please test your audio and video setup – ideally both well in advance and immediately before the exam – to ensure that you can be heard and seen clearly. Simply join the TU Dresden BBB test room (please see the notes further down that page for how to perform an echo test) or the Zoom test room (follow the instructions there). Note that these are separate rooms from the one used for the actual exam.
Getting an appointment
Typically, all examinations must be registered with (and approved by) your Examination Office before an appointment can be made. After doing this, please contact Anja Kotteck for setting up an appointment. In your message, make sure to include:
- a list ranking all our offered time slots (see above) by decreasing preference, filtered by availability (e.g., “1 Jan 2000 9:00-12:00 (preferred); 1 Jan 2000 13:00-15:00; 1 Jan 2000 15:00-18:00; …");
- your full name and matriculation number (e.g., “Alice Aardvark, 1234567”);
- your degree program (e.g., “Master Informatik”);
- the module for which you want to take an exam (e.g., “INF-AQUA”, “INF-B-520”, …);
- the courses covered in the exam (e.g., “Network Simulation”);
- the examination mode (e.g., “oral 25 minutes”); if you are unsure, please check, e.g., on the web pages of the computer science examination office or its list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ);
- and any special considerations (e.g., use of an on-campus computer, granted time extensions, …).
Please note:
- We strive to process requests within 5 business days; if you do not hear back from us within this time, please let us know: your message might not have reached us.
- Make sure to confirm your examination dates as soon as possible to avoid losing them; proposed examination dates that are not yet confirmed by you may be allocated to other students without further notice.
- When sending us registration forms for exams in the degree programs IST and WiWi, please attach all required forms (“registration”, “protocol and assessment”, “proof of assessment”)
- Forms must either be submitted using a digital signature backed by a TU Dresden user certificate or as a physical piece of paper with a handwritten signature. Mixing both variants on a single form is not possible.
