Every 26 seconds an emergency call is placed somewhere in Berlin, the majority of which are for emergency medical services. Yet, emergency medical services take ever longer to arrive at the scene, especially in rural areas. Many ideas have been proposed to improve the situation, though a scientifcally rigorous evaluation of these ideas requires a comprehensive simulation scenario, which is currently missing.
Goals of the thesis
This thesis will design and implement a simulation of emergency medical services in a German city, focusing on the interaction between different types of such vehicles, particularly NEF (Notarzteinsatzfahrzeug) and RTW (Rettungswagen) in a rendezvous system. Depending on the breadth and scope of the thesis, simulating NAW (Notarztwagen) in a compact system and KTW (Krankentransportwagen) in a separate system may also be considered.
