Wirelessly Networked Coordination of Section Control for Agricultural Machines
PA: Research Project (INF-PM-FPA / INF-PM-FPG) or
BA: Bachelor Thesis (or Studienarbeit / Großer Beleg)
Precision farming with multiple concurrently running machines requires these machines to be aware of which parts of a field have already been treated by others. For this, the field can either be statically partitioned or these partitions can be made fully dynamic: by allowing machines to exchange among each other which parts have already been treated. Finding efficient means of sharing this information among machines – especially in areas without mobile broadband service – is an active field of study.
Goals of the thesis
This thesis will develop a system that allows precision farming utilities to wirelessly exchange information about which parts of a field have already been treated. The system will be prototyped on hardware and its performance investigated in detail.
